Becoming a parent is a wonderful experience, and most parents say it's one of the greatest moments of their lives. But there's no question, it's also filled with challenges, and often one of the biggest challenges is calming a crying baby.
Your biggest priority in caring for your baby is to shower her with love and affection. But you will also want to soothe and calm her when she cries.
Pediatrician, Dr. Harvey Karp has developed a system to make even colicky babies calm and peaceful. He calls it the "Cuddle Cure", and he shows you how to use the "5 S's" to help your baby stop crying within seconds.
The 5 S's include:
Swaddling
Side or Stomach Position
Shhhhh
swing
Baby Calming Techniques
These videos will show you how other parents, just like yourself, are using the methods taught in Dr. Harvey Karp's book, "The Happiest Baby on the Block". I highly recommend that you purchase that book and DVD for the complete guide to calming your baby.

And in case you missed the swaddle in the last video...here'e an excellent demonstration of how to swaddle your baby snuggly.
I hope you have found these videos helpful. Here are a couple more tips to help with your baby calming success.
#1 - When doing the "shhhhhhh" or "white noise", you want that noise to be as loud as the crying your baby is making. If baby is screaming, the white noise is going to be fairly loud - in order for your baby to hear it. It has to get your baby's attention. Then, as baby calms, you reduce the volume of the white noise so it's not as loud, but still helps baby to stop crying or go to sleep.
#2 - I've created 4 white noise mp3 sound files for you. You can either listen to them online, or download them. Be sure to adjust the volume.
